Make Peach Melba for a quick and easy peach dessert idea, or for a snack with peach fruit!
Peach Melba reminds me of an peach sundae. All the good taste of ice cream and fruit. I never get tired of this type of combination!
Use vanilla ice cream, and a chocolate sauce, or a raspberry sauce (or both!), and sliced almonds (optional).
Take your taste buds for a ride today! I made this recipe with fresh peaches, but you can use canned, halved peaches if no fresh peaches are available.
fresh peaches or canned peach halves (two halves per person)
2 scoops vanilla (plain) ice cream per person (or less)
chocolate sauce and/or raspberry sauce
sliced almonds, optional
Place two scoops (or less, if desired) ice cream per serving in individual bowls.
Place two peach halves on top of the ice cream.
Top with chocolate or raspberry sauce, or another sauce(s) of your choice!
Decorate with flaked almonds.
Did You Know?
Some peaches are much easier to peel than others.
If you are eating the peach out of hand, and you don't mind eating the skin as well, there is not problem whether or not the peach peels easily.
However, when freezing peaches, canning peaches, or making jam, or using a quantity of peaches for any purpose, you can very easily remove the peel from the peaches by using a technique called "blanching". This method makes short-work of removing the peel from peaches.
