Peeling Peaches Easily and Quickly

How to Peel Peaches the Best Way -
For Canning, Freezing, Jam

Peeling Peaches Made Easy!

Some varieties of peaches are easy to peel, and are easy to pull off of the pit. Other varieties however, are difficult and messy to peel with a knife.

Using a technique called "blanching", you can easily peel the skin off of the peach.

This is a great method to use when preserving peaches by canning or freezing peaches, or to use when making peach jam or jelly.

Here are Step-by-Step Instructions, (with pictures), for removing the skin from a peach easily, using the blanching method.

Obviously, you will most likely be using more than one peach for this process!

What you will need:

Peaches

Pan of Boiling Water

Bowl of Ice Water

Slotted Spoon

Knife

Step 1

Prepare a bowl of ice and cold water.

Step 2

On the stove, bring a pan of water to a boil.

Step 3

Gently place your peach in the pan of boiling water and leave it there for about 45 -60 seconds.

Step 4

Using a slotted spoon, remove the peach from the boiling water, and immediately place it in the bowl of ice water, and leave it there for about 20 - 30 seconds. (This process stops the fruit from actually cooking).
