If you like peaches and chocolate, this is the dessert for you.

A dessert with peaches is a nice alternative to the "ordinary", and almost everyone loves peaches!

Best served warm with a sprinkling of icing sugar and a dollop of your choice of whipped cream, crème fraîche, Greek yogurt, or plain.

Ingredients

7 oz. (200 grams) dark chocolate
1/2 cup butter
4 medium size eggs, separated
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 - (425 gr. size) - can sliced peaches
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tbsp. sifted icing sugar
whipped cream or crème fraîche, or Greek yogurt (to serve)

Directions

Break the chocolate and the butter into small pieces and place them in a small microwave-safe bowl.

Melt the chocolate and the butter in the microwave, using the lowest setting, and mix together with a fork.

In another bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the sugar until the mixture is very thick and creamy.

In another bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the sugar until the mixture is very thick and creamy.

Stir the melted chocolate and butter mixture into the egg yolk mixture (above) and mix together just until combined.

In another bowl, whisk the egg whites until they are stiff, then fold 2 tbsp. of the whisked egg whites into the chocolate mixture and mix well.

Gently fold the remaining egg white to the chocolate mixture.

Fold the peach slices and the cinnamon into the mixture, stirring just until combined. Do not over-mix.

Spoon the dessert mixture into a greased (3 pint/1.7 litre) round or square baking dish.

Do not level the surface of the batter; allow it to remain slightly uneven.

Bake at 325° F for about 40 minutes, or until peach bake dessert is well risen, and just firm to the touch.

Sprinkle the surface with the icing sugar and serve immediately with spoonfuls of whipped cream or crème fraîche, or Greek yogurt.

Enjoy!
