Making homemade peach juice is simple, and can be made using a blender or a food processor, following this easy juice recipe for fresh peaches.
Peaches are perhaps the most juicy and scrumptious of fruits.
It is not surprising that hundreds of recipe have been developed to utilize this amazing fruit.
Fresh, homemade juice made with fresh peaches is a healthy, easy and delicious way to enjoy peaches when they are ripe locally.
The best juice begins with fresh, ripe peaches.
Select peaches which are somewhat soft to the touch, and that are producing a "peach" smell.
Ripe peaches add to the natural sweetness that gives peaches their delectable flavour.
Avoid using peaches that are unripe or that are too firm. Greenish, or unripe peaches will not process properly in the blender, and the will prove to produce a bitter tasting juice.
The juice made from ripe peach fruit is naturally sweet, so the addition of sugar (or honey) is optional. The addition of lime juice is also optional, according to the natural flavour of the variety of peach and your own taste preferences.
Water, and, or ice is added to the fresh juice to dilute it, and thin the consistency of the blended fruit.
Enjoy pure, fresh peach juice with a few ice cubes, or add carbonated water to make a fruit juice fizz, or add the juice to a homemade peach cocktail or another peach drink recipe.
Juice made from peaches can also be combined with almost any other fruit to make a delicious, healthy fruit juice. Apple juice is a common favourite to pair with this juice.
Be creative and make your own specialty juice!
6 ripe medium peaches
2 cups cold water
1 tbsp. lime juice, (I used lemon juice, bottled)
1 - 2 tbsp. granulated sugar, optional
Peel, pit and slice fresh peaches. For the best, easy way to peel peaches,
Place one half of the slices of peaches into the blender or food processor with 1 cup of cold water, and blend until smooth.
Add the remaining peach slices to the blender, and continue to blend the peaches, adding the remaining 1 cup of cold water, and the sugar (optional) and the lime juice (or lemon juice), until smooth, and the desired consistency is reached. The lime or lemon juice will help the juice to maintain it's colour.
If there are large pieces of peach still remaining, pour the juice through a strainer to remove them, if desired.
If you are mixing this fresh juice with other fruit juices, allow the mixture to stand in the refrigerator for about 1 hour to allow the flavour of the different types of fruit juices to combine.
Stir before serving, and ENJOY the summertime flavour of healthy, homemade peach juice.
Makes about 5 cups of peach juice.
